Smithsonian Soils Exhibit

On July 19, 2008 a new exhibit will be unveiled at the Smithsonian Institute. The State Soils Smithsonian Soils Exhibit Project will be outstanding in increasing the awareness in education of the youth about the importance of soils and their many uses. Each state has been asked to send a sample for this collection. You can go to www.soils.org/smithsonian  and find out more about this informative project.

Did you know that each US state has an official state soil? Learn more from the USDA NRCS State Soils web site.
